Version 1.19

The new year is almost here and a new version of Vavoom has been released. This version comes with many changes for sound and music. I replaced DirectMusic driver with new driver that uses native Windows API, so it should sound much nicer. Besides MIDI, Vavoom now has support for MP3, Vorbis, FLACC and tracker module format music files. The in-game sounds now can be also in WAV and FLAC formats. Support for SNDINFO and SNDSEQ extensions also has been added. And of course there’s bug fixes and improvements in other places.

Version 1.18

After longer time than I expected, version 1.18 is finnaly out. This version has much improved texture management, adding support for overloaded textures (patches between TX_START and TX_END markers) and patches in PNG format. Also as promissed all model packs have been updated. BOOM support is more complete. I also implemented network packet compression. And of course other fixes here and there.

Version 1.17

Version 1.17 is out now. This version supports most of the Boom level editing features and many other line specials are now available. There’s also new OpenGL driver for Linux that should fix problems with mouse. Saving of a cooperative game is also implemented (but I couldn’t test it). And of course usual bug fixes and improvements.

I hope for next version I will update model packs since current ones are getting old.

Version 1.15.2

A version 1.15.2 of Vavoom has been released. This version features even more improved Strife support and several other bug fixes and feature requests (special actions on monster death available in all games and some improvements in positioning things on 3D floors).
