it would be kinda cool if you could somehow make special rain,snow thing you could place down in ya map in it will snow or rain in that sector. I seen a zdoom map where it had snow.wad and a rain.wad example. but i didn't look on how it was done.

Godd idea. Probably ZDoom did it with partickes and I could do it the same way.

I think the way to do it is to put some map spots tagged with different numbers (5 or 6), and make a script to spawn the thing you are using for snow/rain, and make a dehacked patch to change the sprites.

It might have been done with the spawn() special, because you can use that to directly enter the coordinates to spawn the object. Add in a bit of randomness and you then dont need 100 mapspots.

Chilvence:  I didn't know Zdoom had a spawn(x, y, z) function.  I thought it was still limited to spawning things at certain spots.<br><br>At any rate, the weather effects were no doubt done with ACS; they have been in every map I've come across.  To have it done automatically would be even better though, and no doubt faster.
