So Vavoom doesn't come with the wad files for the games?

If you mean the Iwads, then of course it doesn't come with them, because that would obviously deem it illegal.

If you want to test it, Vavoom supports the shareware IWADs too, so you can download any one of them if you want, but if you mean the registered version of the IWAD files, no one will ever give them to you... ever.

Apart from Strife as thats now abandonware. You'll fine it on The Underdogs.

Ok thanks, I tried to use the Heretic wad that it had in the folder for it and it wouldn't work, so I had to go get my "Shadow of the Serpent Riders" cd. By the way... what's the difference between "Shadow of the Serpent Riders" and "Heretic"?

It has two extra episodes thrown in for free in the latest patch.

Two extra episodes which are EXTREMELY hard. The first level of the first extra opens up with a bloody minotaur!

Just for the record, I played all those 18 maps one by one on skill 5, warping to each one with only the elvenwand and 50 shots and I finished them all w/o cheats.

Hard as in confusing levels, don't even get me started on the Ossuary's secret level , it took me a LONG time to figure that out...

the episodes also have a ludicrous amount of gargoyles

Come on, it's fucking simple to find, when you are about to enter the normal exit, you can throw a switch or so and you get to a new unexplored part of the map (which is BTW one of the most impressive/immersive places in Heretic) where you can go to the secret exit.

I got it now, but I never found it before, true! You know my limitations, I'm not very bright BTW, Janis, gratz for the Strife port, its awesome Who could tell a few years back that you were going to make it all without the source code? I am impressed

Next step would be for someone to redesign the worst-looking parts of the maps, compared to Heretic and Hexen original maps, Strife maps look very ugly (not all but many).

Custom textures would be just great! Vavoom has texture support, has it not? If we could make a texture pack for Strife it would be perfect! There are texture packs for Doom, Hexen and Heretic but we can't use those, for Strife we need new ones. The game is almost bug free, all those little annoyances like the objetive screen and some hall of mirrors are nothing compared to how it was before. Janis, isn't it possible to display our health and ammo in the game full screen? Only the numbers would be fine, cause playing with that inventory bar in the lower bottom feels weird to me...

Not a problem. And a texture pack for Strife would be simply great.
