Problems building Nodes

Hello I hope the topic is correct because I don't understand this node stuff fully. But now I got a problem and I hope we can solve it. I own the following games/wads: * Doom * Doom2 * TNT * Evilution * Heretic * Heretic - Shadow of the Serpen Riders * Hexen * Hexen - Deathkings Everything runs well with the node building via Vavoom, except the Hexen Wads. If it tries to calculate VIS data Vavoom quits and tells me: "Leaf portals saw into leaf" So I tried to let the maps rebuild with glBSP, but as I saw now Vavoom still needs to create VIS data and it still quits. After that I tried to run this with glVis. I used: "glvis hexen.wad" and got: "W_GetNumForName: W_GetNumForName: not found!" I tried with other WADs I have but I always get this error message. Can anyone help me here? I would say my WADs seem to be correct and as far as I remember I haven't rebuild them with other source ports and Node builders, yet. Here are some specifications: SuSE Linux 10.0 on AMD AthlonXP 3000+ Vavoom: 1.19.1 (self compiled) glBSP: 2.20 (self compiled) glVis: 1.5 (self compiled) - also tried the version of Vavoom 1.19.1 (but same error message) thank you for reading Christian

Yes, there's a problem with latest version of glBSP. If you rebuild GL nodes with an older version, it will work fine.

Thank you. I will try that asap. By the way: How is the development status of the game? Nonono, I don't want to nag, but I'm very interested in it, because I would love to help you by sending in patches (if that is allowed to). Many source ports currently "look" stalled and I would help you to let Vavoom step a little bit faster - IF that is necessary. I know about some stuff that needs to be done for strife, but are there other serious things to be done for the other games?

Currently I'm doing a lots of work on internal core stuff and compiler. I think soon I'll be able to make progs modular. Strife needs a lots of work and patches are welcome. There's nothink really wrong with other games.

Hm I guress then I have to look if i can get Strife from semowhere so I can help you there. I looked yround in the forum. There was something said that the cast at the end of Doom2 doesn't work. Additionally the face animation if you press fire button too long. If these bugs still exist i could take a look at it if you want. (Oh my, my posts go offtopic, sorry). Probably I should contact you for this in an other way. Perhaps some Instant messenger or mail? The source is really interesting to me. If I hadn't so much to do with the descent sources I would love to dig me through.

You can get the latest Vavoom's source from the CVS repository to look for the latest changes Janis has made and continue with your collaboration from there, being it beta testing the latest build or making patches of it, hope this can help you out .

Yes, but currently there's no easy way to solve this, so don't bother.

This one is fixed.

I'm not available on IM, so use e-mail.

Maybe somehow integrate right versions of glBsp and glVis with Vavoom instead of make users build bsp and vis data for custom wads manually?

Yes, I'm gonna fix it.
