Pre-rendering light sources

I'd like a possbility to pre-render light sources the way it is done with GL nodes and vis data so that it can be saved into a file and maps load much faster (currently on maps with lots of light sources it takes forever for the CPU to calculate this before loading a map).

I don't know if the algorithm for calculating light sources could be simplified by using an angle based clipper class.

I don't know about the technical details, but what is at stake here is that if there is no solution for this, we'll have to reduce the number of light sources in the Korax RPG to virtually zero because the player changes maps all the time and while in KA it's acceptable to wait a minute for a map you'll play for 20 minutes, it's no good when you are just going back to the city through 5 maps, spending 10 seconds in each and waiting 50 seconds between maps for loading.
