Is it possible to make something like "portal" in current Vavoom version, like where a line servers as a "window" to another place, to render a camera view, for instance. I am asking because since there sky-sectors already possible, thus I thought this type can be possible as well.

It should be possible to do using sector stacks.

So this might be a good time to ask, how do sector stacks work?

[quote="Firebrand":2rpdtoj3]So this might be a good time to ask, how do sector stacks work? Well, here's something in Zdoom wiki: http://zdoom.org/wiki/Stacked_sectors From that article it seems that this only possible for making vertically connected sectors (that's why it's called sector stack). Maybe I do not know something? Plus, I was also thinking about setting the view to a camera or some object and move it to simulate vehicle (in which the player drives).

What are you trying to do? A kind of teleport similar to "Prey" game? If you never play Prey, those "teleport" lets you see what you will find at the teleport destination. If thats what you can build, Vavoom has a (i think) better and easier way to do this: "SetCameraToTexture()". Take a look at Z1E1 from KDiZD for a example of usage. You also need to define some parameters for the texture. Check this for full info: [url:3u74ijky]http://zdoom.org/wiki/SetCameraToTexture I hope this is usefull for you.

AFAIK this was introduced in Quake3 [quote="Karnizero":3vu2qwqw] If thats what you can build, Vavoom has a (i think) better and easier way to do this: "SetCameraToTexture()". I know this, but this method makes a flat image, and I was thinking about volumetric one.

Thanks to some near neightbour's wifi, im able to connect internet, and search for usefull things. Take a look at this: [url:20f96wxh]http://forum.zdoom.org/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=19822 Tested on Vavoom 1.29 and works fine, although maybe a bit more laggy than in zDoom.

Thanks, that was interesting, but, as was said "albeit somewhat of a pain in the ass to implement", and all these restrictions... heh. This is not urgent for me, so I'll wait, maybe Vavoom will have this feature one day
