Paletted textures

Can or does Vavoom have this option? Vavoom almost works on a certain old 4MB 3d card I have, though at a slow framerate since the VRAM is being thrashed with 24/32bit textures and this is on a P2 system. I'm shocked it's even running at all, since Vavoom is the only 3D doom port to run on this card.

You have to covert them to palletized textures, or use the 8-bit renderer.

No, OpenGL and Direct3D work only with 32 bit textures.

[quote="Firebrand":11tvrfph]You have to covert them to palletized textures All the patches in doom.wad already are palettized to begin with. <!-- s:) --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" title="Smile" /><!-- s:) --> [quote="Janis Legzdinsh":11tvrfph]No, OpenGL and Direct3D work only with 32 bit textures. I don't think that's true. There's much more supported than RGBA8... even id Tech3 still has native indexed texture support! (tr_image.c)
