Monster variables

The 4th Class

In various monster's "defaultproperties," what do these variables mean: GibsHealth, Height (I thought this was determined by the size of the sprite. I mean, the ettin's "Height = 68" while the chaos serpent's "Height = 64," which doesn't seem right for me ), PainChance, and bNoPassMobj. If anybody could tell me what each of these mean, I'd really appreciate that. Also, I'm sure you've been asked thousands of times how to create new monsters, so just point me to a tutorial and I'll take it from there.

In various monster's "defaultproperties," what do these variables mean: GibsHealth,
Health level at which gibs death animation is played instead of normal one.
Height
Height of the object
(I thought this was determined by the size of the sprite. I mean, the ettin's "Height = 68" while the chaos serpent's "Height = 64," which doesn't seem right for me ),
Sprite is just a graphic, it has norhing to do with physics.
PainChance,
Determines the chance the pain animation will be played when actor is hurt.
and bNoPassMobj. If anybody could tell me what each of these mean, I'd really appreciate that.
Disables walking over other solid objects (like in original Doom).

Simplest is to modify existing one.

There's a list of descriptions for variables like bNoPassMobj in Actor.vc (near the beginning of the file) . Also, if you have more questions, keep asking, that's a very good way of learning!

When you say "modify existing one," do you also imply "replace existing one?" Because I don't want to do that.

He means "copy existing one and build your own using old as a base, instead of coding from scratch". And, oh, I should really write class reference at last when I would have time. At least for often used classes. And probably a tutorial for creating monster.
