Three things to report on vavoom 1.18 on Microsoft WinXP.
1. There's tons of HOMs, mostly on things like the steps of a staircase, or the portion of a ceiling that drops down slightly for a doorway. The place where small textures are placed. It's all over the place.
2. I don't know how to start a co-op game. I seemingly start a multi-user game from in the main menu area. On the other system, I hit "multi-player game", and it *sees* the game on the first host --- but when I press "enter" to join the game that's highlighted, nothing happens. It pretty much just sits there. Any advice?
3. The sound effect when you press escape to go to the main menu, or the arrow keys to select the main menu items, or the sound of an exploding rocket is unusually more loud than any other sound effect. When I try to save the game, for instance, I need to turn the speakers way down because the sound of the main menu is defeaning. There's something different about those sounds compared with, for example, the sound of you shooting the chaingun or of an imp firing a fireball. There's like an equivalence class of sounds: one class is in sync, in volume, with the music, and the other class is abnormally loud.
