I can't get texture to work in vavoom

It could be a DDS format texture which Vavoom doesn't support yet.

Place floor slope thing inside a sector and set it's z or height value to be desired floor height at that point. To one of the lines that will have floor height at it's vertexes the same as sector's floor height value set it's first argument to the some number, set the same number to be the ID (or TID) of the floor slope thing. Ceiling sloping works in the same way.
