I have been playing Doom since it first appeared on a PC and am interested in trying my hand at editing.<br><br>As I am a "newbie", I would appreciate a list of essential tools, to get started. ie: which editor to use? Which tutorial? etc.<br><br>Any and all information given will be appreciated.<br><br>J

My favourite editor is WadAuthor. But for beginners DoomBuilder is known to be the easiest to use. For editing resources WInTex is the best one. You can get them from Doomworld.com. If you have any trouble, post your problem in it's forums and there will be a lots of guys who will help you to deal with the problem.
