I need to know what object of the inventory (for hexen or heretic) is currently selected and ready for use, so i can get it's name. Any idea on how to do this, or any .vc where this is done? Thanks.

Check cgame/Statusbar.vc, it must show currently selected item in the small window. Probably this:

Inventory Item = cl.InvFirst;
