The 4th Class

Hey guys, I was just wondering if anybody could fill me in with more insight on how the clusters (hubs) work in the ACS and the progs. My main questions are: 1) What is "carried" on to the next cluster? What is "left behind" or deleted from temporary memory bank? 2) Hexen has 5 clusters, but let's assume I want to make a 6th one. Can I do this? Will WinTex recognize a CLUS5MSG lump, even though it never existed?

[quote="The 4th Class":3fon03wz] 1) What is "carried" on to the next cluster? What is "left behind" or deleted from temporary memory bank? AFAIK, what is left is - player's stats (inventory etc); global variables and changes made from previous maps' scripts in next hub's maps. [quote="The 4th Class":3fon03wz]2) Hexen has 5 clusters, but let's assume I want to make a 6th one. Can I do this? Will WinTex recognize a CLUS5MSG lump, even though it never existed? Wrong question. WinTex doesn't matter at all, there you may name your data like you want. The right question IS - will HEXEN recognise it. I dunno, never tried... But you may easily check this yourself I think.

Yes, you can now make any number of hubs, the thing is to build a MAPINFO entry inside your WAD files which orders maps used for each hub, you can check the wiki for information on it, if you have anymore questions, you know where to ask .
