Did you ever in any way modify that text file in the basev.pk3? Anyways I think the best fix would be just to redownload Vavoom.

Delete all PK3 files in /home/morbidtwatt/.vavoom/

HEY it worked after i deleted all the pk3 files in all the directorys of .vavoom/ ...question though why didnt it work with the pk3 in there? and why did it come that way broken??

Most likely those were PK3 files from previous version. Another reason is that DECORATE doesn't allow redeclared classes.
