[Not a bug] Node Builder Error (I think)

It's really hard to describe this; perhaps the best way is to say "invisible wall". I'm going to upload the save, you have to see it. Also, you should run around the level and see the little HOM strips everywhere.

Gio

NB: The file will be called nodebad.zip

NB[sup]2[/sup]: That is, it would be if I could upload the thing. It says I have no permission.

What's your editor? I had similar bad experiences with WadAuthor in some cases. As to the uploader, you don't even want to know why it isn't working, LOL... Janis, I just sent you a PM about it.

Well, the editor is whatever the Raven people used, 'cause this is the basic, unmodified Heretic. The whole reason I posted here was because I remember something about Vavoom building GL nodes way back when I first fired it up (like a week and a half ago!).

Heheh. So what is wrong with the upload? ;D

Gio

Yeah, it realy sounds like bad GL nodes. Try to rebuild them.

Ugh! I didn't even think of rebuilding the nodes. Should I use glVIS to do it, or some other program? From reading the info on glVIS, it looks like I need to already have GL nodes built for the level. I think DeePsea can do that...

Thanks for your help guys, you've really made this port worth my time. I might actually finish making a wad or two. 8)

Gio

The editor Raven used for making the original Heretic is AFAIK not available at all - it was a very crude and unfriendly tool compared to those user-made WAD editors out there.

GL nodes are build with glBSP. Possibly DeepSea can build them, if not, you should be able to specify glBSP as node builder application.
