Now, I'm going to try to see if I can repeat this error in other ways, but for right now, here goes:

Here I am at 0445 hours, wanting to play some Heretic. You know, take a break from editing. I fire up Vavoom, load up Heretic under software rendering using the launcher, and check to see if I have any savegames. Lo and behold, I do. So I load the thing. And then...

It's E1M3. Not much around me, so I scout around. Everything seems normal. Aha! I spot a Gargoyle. Pulling out my trusty wand, I pop off a few charges at it. It isn't fazed. It's buddies, however, fly in through the wall in front of me. I strafe. I shoot. Nothing happens. Oh, my wand makes pretty flashes, but the blasts are going through this thing. "Great," I think. "Clipping baddies." I run over a few wand crystals to restock. No pickup. I dodge into a wall. Surprisingly, I become wedged halfway into the wall. I start running headlong into other walls, surprised when some give way, worried when some block my progress. I gallivant about the level. I end the Vavoom session. I come here. I report bug.

*ahem* In short, I loaded a Heretic save and found everything CLIPPING! I dunno why. Anybody else have this problem?

Gio

NB: Forgive me the above, it's really early in the morning here.

NB[sup]2[/sup]: I can upload the save if anyone wants to see. It's really scary.

Most likely it's a savegame from an older version. With current version savegames there shouldn't be such problem.

Actually, I know for sure that the save isn't from an earlier version, as I wiped the directory clean before installing v1.15. Still, I haven't been able to repeat the error, so it might just be a freak occurence. Go figure.

Despite this, is there a way I can check to see what version the save is from? Like a tag of some sort I can spot in a hex editor?

Gio

Yes, savegames does include a version string, but most likely I didn't update it.
