Would it be possible to have the water surface reflective, so it acts like a mirror and you can see yourself, the level behind you and enemys.

Another wish about water, it'd be cool if it could flow the way it could in Heretic/Hexen. I tried setting the scroll tag for water floors, but it didn't work in Vavoom. If I set the scrolling for the 3D floor which is actually the water, nothing happened. If I set the scrolling for the bottom sector, then the river bed was scrolling, but the water not.

Thanx for reminding me Orc I had that problem with my river in my castle level I was making.<br><br>So that adds another person to the flowing water idea.<br><br>And maybe instead of just reflective water have reflective surfaces (walls, floor and celing)

??? if we treated water like a transparent extra floor, and<br>added some of ZDoom's mirror code. (It would also be nice to have mirrors--so the players can look at them selves.) Then maybe we could have a tool that converts extrafloor type water into transparent water.<br><br>We could have a reflexitivity map--to tell the engine how much of a mirror to add to different parts of the level.  8)

Mirrors of course are cool. Then we'll see how easy they can be implemented.<br><br>Scrolling extrafloors - hmm, I guess I know why they don't scroll. I'll see what can be done.

Are we talking about the slime\water moving ripples? As far as I can tell vavoom is the only engine NOT to have moving ripples. Wondering- will this be rectified?

Ripples and reflection sounds good.<br><br>And no what Orc is on about is waterflow so it puches you one way.<br><br>With ripples could the reflection be distorted.

A few more water sugestions (well two):<br><br>1) Could you do it so if you have been underwater for so long you start loseing health.<br><br>2) Could you put in a transparant waterfall effect (this would only be for those maps made for vavoom)<br><br>3) (I know I said two but I can't be bothered to change it ;D) Allow swimable water in the other games or is this already there and I just missed something.

1) Could you do it so if you have been underwater for so long you start loseing health.
<br>Not a problem.<br><br>
2) Could you put in a transparant waterfall effect (this would only be for those maps made for vavoom)
<br>What kind of effect do you mean?<br><br>
3) (I know I said two but I can't be bothered to change it ;D) Allow swimable water in the other games or is this already there and I just missed something.
<br>It's swimable in all games.<br>

What kind of effect do you mean?
<br><br>What I mean is on the water surface its translucent could you do that for the waterfall or is it there and I'm doing somthing wrong.

It's swimable in all games.
<br><br>I can't find a 3D floor special for doom, doom2 or heretic.<br><br>I now know that you can do water for doom 2 I played the demo and got stuck in the nukeage.<br><br>So what am I doing wrong?

You need to edit maps in Hexen format. If you are using WadAuthor, you need to create a converted versions of the main wad files using zwadconv, that you will find on DoomWorld.com in ZDoom utilities package.

And in WadAuthor you better set your configuration file to vdoom, vdoom2, or vheretic, or those extra specials don't exist <!-- s;) --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_wink.gif" alt=";)" title="Wink" /><!-- s;) -->
