By the way, why JHexen models do not scale (sprites are)? What is needed to make models scale as well (is it possible)?

AFAIK, scale needs to be set on progs, I don't know if scaling works in MODELDEFS, as for the JHexen models not working, it's because they have too many triangles and can't be handled by the engine (or at least that was a few versions ago), maybe I'll test them again when I have the time <!-- s:) --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" title="Smile" /><!-- s:) -->.

Why you don't like XML?

I've tried XML's.. sorry, but it is not comfortable, intuitiveless (maybe there's no such a word in englich <!-- s:oops: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_redface.gif" alt=":oops:" title="Embarassed" /><!-- s:oops: --> ).. The most needed is defining model skins not in models, but in modeldefs. It is much more usefull. as for me i have great problems with in-model skin defining <!-- s:cry: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_cry.gif" alt=":cry:" title="Crying or Very sad" /><!-- s:cry: --> Anyway it's a step to higher compatibility with GZDoom too! <!-- s:) --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" title="Smile" /><!-- s:) --> I'f i'm not mistaking you have started work in this dirrection <!-- s;) --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_wink.gif" alt=";)" title="Wink" /><!-- s;) --> I will be very glad if you will imlement new type of modeldefs =)

[quote="Alex-bomber_Man":hfrgrc87]intuitiveless Counterintuitive. Yeah, I agree - xml is a good format for machine reading and writing (uml and svg are great examples) but not so great for humans...

I looked attentively at xml's.. well it may be quiet usefull, but i still need there: model scaling factor skin file definitions (it's very unusefull to use basic in-model definitions)

It already does support scale.

Oh! nice. and what have i to write there to scale the model? <!-- s:) --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" title="Smile" /><!-- s:) -->

Either in md2 or frame node you can add the following attributes: scale, scale_x, scale_y, scale_z. See weapons/plasma/model.xml for an example.

Thanks a lot <!-- s:) --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" title="Smile" /><!-- s:) --> I think i'll need it very soon P.S. waiting for skin defining in modeldefs
