When playing Strife and working for the "Best Ending" the Oracle Spectre cannot be killed. It can be killed if one follows the path for the "Not So Good Ending" and you kill it after Macil and the Loremaster. This means that much of the Strife game must be skipped and the "Best Ending" cannot be achieved. The Oracle Spectre seems to be invulnerable to the Sigil or any of the Strife weapons. As I understand it, it is supposed to be only susceptible to the Sigil, I just tried unloading my other weapons on the odd chance that maybe it would go down. If you invoke God mode you can attack the Spectre indefinitely and it never falls. Here's the debug.txt:

I don't see anything useful in the debug.txt log. I can see where I invoked GOD mode so I could fight the Spectre unabated, but I see nothing else in the log around that action to suggest why the Spectre is not susceptible to the Sigil. Compiled with gcc 4.4.1 on Ubuntu 9.10, 32 bit. This problem has persisted in all the SVN versions from the last couple of weeks so it is not a new bug. However version 1.30 did not have this problem, although it has a segfault issue that seemed to be related to the lightning effect in the game.

debug.txt is only useful for game crashes and such... in this case the problem seems to be bad declaration of the damage for the Sigil projectiles... can you please post a savegame for Vavoom 1.31 that is already in the place where you can't progress? It would make it easier to test the problem, thanks!

I didn't expect the debug.txt to help. I was just fallowing the bug reporting guidelines. I have a save file, but just discovered it cannot be uploaded due to size limitations on this forum. My file is 360K when zipped and the upload limit is 256K. I have tried creating a multi-volume archive with RAR and upload it. Hopefully that will work for you. The save file is right before the battle with the Oracle Spectre. You can kill the Oracle and fight the Spectre from the point of the save game. In fact I think that is the only option because I think there is no exit from the Oracle's sanctum available until you defeat the Spectre. If my uploads turn out to be crap, let me know and maybe there is another way for me to upload the save file. I could make a multi-volume tar archive if that would be preferable. Another alternative is I could use 'split' on the file and then you would have to use 'cat' to re-merge them.
