Running hexen in Vavoom, seems to make all the monsters blind. They do hear me, when I fire they come running to kill me. I like the game better when they actually see me walking by ;)
But I get no reaction at all.

Any ideas on how to fix this? Haven't seen this reported anywhere so I guess other people play hexen just fine.
Doom, doom2 and heretic play just fine and I love Vavoom. But hexen is my favourite :-/

Actally this has nothing to do with Vavoom. It's an known bug in glBSP, which is messing up the REJECT lump in Hexen format maps. glBSP plugin used by Vavoom has this bug fixed, so you should simply rebuild GL-nodes.

Thanks for the reply :D

But I don't think it works. I have never used an old version of the glBsp-plugin. The problem persists when I use the built-in 'fast mode' in Vavoom for building the gl-nodes and when I use glVis (version 1.4) externally.
Or am I missing something here and should I manually install a glBsp-plugin?

The problem is with glBSP, not glVIS. And this problem arises when GL-nodes are stored back in .WAD file (if .GWA file is used, there's no such problems). You must delete that .WAD file and reinstall it. Then run Vavoom, and it will create a .GWA file.

Very very weird... I'm sure my .wad file was never changed (I have copied it over just to make sure, but it didn't help).
I have never done anything besides using the .gwa files for the gl-nodes. I wouldn't even know how to add them to the .wad ???
Well thanks for trying to help me anyway, but I still don't know if I'm doing anything wrong. I'll just go play some heretic then :D

Ouch! I found where's the problem. It really was a bug in Vavoom, and not in glBSP like it was when I first entercountered similar problem myself.

You are right!
I am playing hexen in vavoom 1.11 now...(I miss the EAX though)
No really, about the sound in vavoom.. I want to thank you so much for making Doom a scarier experience than it already was ;)
I'm playing these games all over again now because of vavoom...

Waiting anxiously for the next version of vavoom ::)

Yeah, EAX really rocks! Currently I'm only changing environment size, in further versions I will also take advantage of the obstruction and occlusion features making it sound even more cooler! ;D
