Getting squished by the four sliding doors in the first level of Hexen sends the character into the floor with a "sqrt: Domain Error" error message that repeatedly pops up, making me have to kill the game :'(

Ooooh, but it gives me full life, and an ever increasing supply of armor every time I push Escape
But I still have to kill it. And my computer if I run it from the command line :-[

I had that, but XP went 'bling' and I never got to press escape ;)

Another Hexen thing: All the sprites (or MDL replacements) start to flicker after extended play, like 2-3 hours.

--Glassworks

I saw the flickering a couple of times. However, after I pulled a misplaced wire out of the videocard cooling fan, the problem never reoccurred. Perhaps you should check the temp on the card or, if overclocked, try throttling back a little bit.

sqrt failed - sounds quite strange. I'll check it out.

Yeay! I'm appointing myself an unofficial beta tester ;D
I had no idea Vavoom was more than a year old, either... I just started using it a week ago.

I got the flickering using opengl in the second board of Hexen (The Seven Portals) I think it may have something to do with a limit to the amount of onscreen "sprites" (even though I have the 3D models installed). It seems the longer I was in it, killing badguys and shooting and whatever else, the worse the flickering became. It was only when looking over a large area though. If I moved closer to the walls (so my view area was smaller, with less objects in it) the flickering stopped. It's not the temp, as I just started my computer moments ago, and it does it in both software and OpenGl modes. The leaves tumbling on the ground create lots of sprites, and with the dead bodies and firing the weapon, I think some limit is being crossed.

The portals themselves are messed up a bit. The frame graphic inside of the portals is offset, and most of it is black. The red animated portal graphic is there, just behind the black wall.

These are with v1.11.2, Windows, using opengl (well, software mode where noted ).

I'll keep on a-playin', and if I come across anything else, I'll let you know.

Bah. More multiplayer problems. Trying to start a multiplayer game of Hexen, I get the following error:
W_GetNumForName: LIFEGMF not found! (for the fighter)
W_GetNumForName: LIFEGMC0 not found! (for the cleric)
W_GetNumForName: LIFEGMM0 not found! (for the mage)
And thus, the game does not go...

The flickering is because a lots of objects may be seen and the network packets are overflowing.

Portals - yah, alost forgot about this bug.

Missing graphics - for now change your player's color or earlage view to fullscreen.
