[Closed] GP2X port

Hello folks. I'm currently porting my small DESCENT project to the GP2X. The GP2X is a handheld console running Linux with an ARM920T and an ARM940T processor running at 200Mhz (possibility to overclock to around 275Mhz). It's made for homebrew so it supports such ports More information at http://www.gp2x.com I'm honest I haven't looked much to the Vavoom source and I don't even know if there is a chance to run it without OpenGL because the GP2X has no OpenGL support (SDL is avilable). But if it would be possible I would be very happy if I could try to port Vavoom to it (with some help from Janis where to put on some modifications). Currently PrBoom has been ported to the GP2X and it runs very good but I'm not too happy with it. I can't enter desciptons for my save states (no keyboard) and the "worst" thing for me is: No Heretic, No Hexen. Since I think Vavoom is the BEST (no flame against other source ports, it's just my feeling in terms of development, stability and bugs) source port out there I would love to see it on the GP2X.

It can be ported without problems because it uses SDL for the software renderer and the x86 assembler code can be disabled but I don't think it will work fullspeed on the GP2X (my Xbox port is far from fullspeed with Heretic, Hexen and Strife) Anyway, if I were you I would give it a try because at 320x240 maybe the GP2X can handle it. btw, many thanks zico for DXX-Rebirth (I'm the guy who ported it to the xbox)

I finally gave up and ported ZDoom for the xbox The light system is crap compared to Vavoom but the speed is very good. I think the gp2x could handle it if you replace the fmod audio renderer with sdl_mixer (for the xbox I have used the directsound alternate renderer)
