I am not really sure how to report these issues so I will post as much info as may be necessary. System uname: 2.6.16.19 x86_64 AMD Opteron(tm) Processor 246 Gentoo Base System release 1.12.9 gcc-4.1.2, glibc-2.5-r2 DeskTop Gnome-2.16.2 Vavoom-1.23 Vavoom-Models-1.4 Vavoom-Music-1.0 WADS_LOADED: UltimateDoom, Doom2, TNT, Plutonia, Heretic, and Hexen Noticeable problems while running vavoom. HEXEN: 5/26/2007 version-1.23 Map view is very poor, many missing walls and or extremely hard to see. The game will intermitently exit to desk-top once the player is killed. Like falling to ones death or being crushed. Once you use the wings of wrath they never stop being activated making it hard to go down into lower areas of the map. Seven portals after entering secert type (where stones grind) area game suddenly shut down. Got the following error message. "Reference not set to an instance of an object" "Window manager warning: Invalid WM_TRANSIENT_FOR window 0x137 specified for 0xe04f10 ()." 5/27/2007 Exiting seven portals to next level, game quits with this error. "W_GetNumForName: clus1msg not found!" Have never been able to proceed with Hexen due to this error. Hexen produces the most errors so far. When running version 1.22 I was constantly receiving segfaults in all the games. I haven't had the time to run all the games or maps with version 1.23.

I suppose you're using my ebuild, aren't you? [list:1m8rt004] [*:1m8rt004]How have you build Vavoom? Post a

Yes Secn I am using your ebuild, and patched it with the gcc and amd64 .diff patches listed in Gentoo Bugs.
emerge -pv vaoom

My graphics card is a Nvidia 6800GTS-AGP with 265M ram. I am running nvidia-glx. I tried to use xorg-xll's opengl but no dice, the game would barley run. However I may be able to solve that in xorg.conf. Launching from CLI = vavoom -(?game_name) -opengl -window. However I set up menu items to launch each game using gnome's menu editor.
vavoom -heretic -opengl -window

I am still going through all the maps and levels. I have gotten fewer errors and segfaults in version 1.23 than I did in version 1.22 so far. In Hexen as noted in first post I can't get to any map after the Seven-Portals which is the first map. In Ultimate_Doom E3M6 the RAD-SUITS don't protect you from being slowly killed, so it is almost impossible to get to all areas on the map. Also getting some texture or missing texture problems in some maps. I will start logging the maps/areas. I will play all the various maps and levels and keep logs on the errors or crashes I get and report them back. Have tried using a couple of different kernels, but that appears to have no effect on game performance or crashes. Additional Hardware.
