[Fixed] Problem with Vavoom and Doombuilder

Every time when I try to play myself-made level with doombuilder using zdoom doom in hexen format in vavoom, it crashes with this error message: Segmentation Violation Stack trace: TMemZone::Malloc<-Zmalloc<-P_LoadACSscripts<-SV_SpawnServer<-COMMAND Map<-Host_Frame the levels made with original doom2 configs work fine, so does the vavoom levels that I downloaded from internet. Has it something to do with nodesbuilder? is there any options for the zbsp? I really want to try to make some 3d sloping floors and polyobjects. Thanks in advance <!-- s:) --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" title="Smile" /><!-- s:) -->

It looks like there's something wrong with the ACS scripts lump. OTOH it shouldn't cause segfault. I don't think it's a problem with zbsp, unless it creates GL nodes, because if not, glBSP build nodes will be used. Can you attach small demo map that has this problem.

This is just an example, since I've lost the one that has something ACS-scripts, but the problem remains.

As I expected, BEHAVIOR lump has size of 0 which is not handled correctly (will fix that). You must add empty ACS script to make it work. I also saw that REJECT lump has size 0 that also can cause problems (must check that).

I've tried to make an blank script in doombuilder and even compiled it, and it still doesn't work. If I remember right, I've tried once to make perfectly working script file, that works even with zdoom, (using #include d2common of course) and it still causes vavoom to crash with same errors, so think the problem is REJECT lump. Does that mean there's something wrong with level structure? Since it has only 2 sectors, and the nodebuilder didn't even build REJECT? Anyway, it would have been fun to build 3d-slopes. I'm assuming wad's created with wadauthor work fine? Too bad the trial version is not working anymore... I don't have money either... <!-- s:( --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_sad.gif" alt=":(" title="Sad" /><!-- s:( -->

Actually by unziping the WadAuthor distro again you will get fresh trial version again.

You will have to add it by wintex or xwe , if you don

Yep, after adding a check of behavior lump size it loaded the wad file with no problems.
