When exposed to the "sewer" like water (poison or whatever)... the screen is supposed to become green (like, it is supposed to start flashing green and then stay green if you're still in the poison...) I believe the functionality of the poison works.. it's just the visual effect that you are supposed to get is not working... Edit: Thread Title

The only time the screen turns a greenish tint is when you have a radiation suit on. If you're in lava/slime or some surface that hurts you, then your screen will flash red everytime you're hurt.

Please note what the title of the thread says:
Longstanding Bug in Strife
I'm VERY aware how damage tiles like lava work and what the radiation suit does in DOOM ... but they function VERY differently in STRIFE

To explain how it works: You touch the slime (dirty water), the entire screen starts to flash green. There obviously is a "timer" (or something like one I assumed you implemented one for this) that when time in slime (in seconds) > 0, it would flash green. This timer is obviously incremented the longer you are in the slime. Obviously, the timer starts at 0 initially. Once the time reaches a certain point (say 30 secs or something), you start taking damage. The timer stops at 30 and the screen is totally green (the screen doesn't flash anymore). In other words, timer = 30 (and cannot exceed this number), take damage and screen is totally green. Then you leave the slime until the game eventually registers you are off it. The totally green screen comes back to flashing. Obviously the timer decrements the longer you are off the slime and the screen will continue to flash as the timer > 0. The screen stops flashing when the timer reaches 0 (and stays here until touching the slime). The timer cannot have a number lower than 0. The only other case is when you have the enviornmental suit on. In which case, you are obviously considered "not on the slime" regardless until the effect wears off. I hope this explains how the visual for the poisoning works.
