[1.21] Fonts almost unreadable with Direct3D

Only with resolutions higher than 800x600, the fonts are readable. Is this a Direct3D limitation or a bug? (software and OpenGL renderers work fine) I've attached 3 screenshots of the game menu at 640x480, 800x600 and 1024x768:

Did you tried increasing the color bit to 24-bit or 32-bit?

I suspect it's a problem with how things are rendered in D3D. Not sure what the problem could be, thought.

Yeah, in OpenGL it looks much better.

Though nothing can beat Software Renderer here <!-- s;) --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_wink.gif" alt=";)" title="Wink" /><!-- s;) --> By the way, since we speak about fonts, can you change the way how Objectives are drawn in Strife? It is terrible - bright yellow font on bright half-transparent lime background.

That's how they were drawn on the original game, heh! <!-- s;) --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_wink.gif" alt=";)" title="Wink" /><!-- s;) --> Since the fonts are loaded from the main Strife WAD (as well as backgrounds), I don't think there's an easy way to change this, maybe making the transparency a bit higher, so there's more contrast with the background?
